A man who appeared intoxicated died after falling onto an Upper East Side subway track early Sunday, police said.
The straphanger, whose name was not released, was struck by a southbound No. 6 train as it entered the E. 86th St./Lexington Ave. station just before 6 a.m., officials said. He died at the scene.
Witnesses told police the man was stumbling around on the platform before falling in onto the tracks.
