Kari Bazemore is being charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the incident, police said.
A 43-year-old woman who bravely chased down and snapped a photo of a man who attacked her in November was thankful Friday that the NYPD finally nabbed the serial slasher.
“It’s amazing to me that, (two) months later, they were able to connect the dots,” Deborah Memmolo told the Daily News after hearing of Kari Bazemore’s arrest.
Memmolo was walking on Fifth Ave. in Midtown just before noon on Nov. 4 when Bazemore struck her in the face with a hard object wrapped in a plastic bag.
The quick thinking East Village resident chased down her deranged assailant and snapped a photo of him.
Bazemore is being charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the incident, police said.
The 40-year-old career criminal has been linked to several similar attacks after being busted for slashing a 24-year-old woman in the face Wednesday morning.
Memmolo said she would gladly appear in court to face her attacker.
“I wasn’t afraid to chase him down the street after he assaulted me, so, yes I’d face him in court,” Memmolo said.
